The Andhra Pradesh Government has reviewed the progress of the Drone City Project in Orvakal, Kurnool district, a flagship initiative aimed at transforming the region into a major hub for drone technology, manufacturing, research, and innovation. During the review meeting, officials assessed the status of infrastructure development, land allocation, and investment proposals, emphasizing the need to complete the project’s initial phase within the scheduled timeline.
The Drone City Project is expected to attract leading technology companies, startups, and research institutions, creating significant employment opportunities for local youth and skilled professionals. The initiative will also support drone manufacturing, pilot training, testing facilities, and research in sectors such as agriculture, logistics, disaster management, and surveillance. Once fully developed, Drone City is expected to position Kurnool as one of India’s leading centers for drone technology while contributing to the district’s economic growth and industrial development.
