Groundnut Cultivation Expands Across Kurnool District

Groundnut cultivation has expanded significantly across Kurnool district as farmers prepare for the Kharif season with improved weather conditions and better availability of quality seeds. Being one of the district’s major commercial crops, groundnut continues to play a vital role in supporting the livelihoods of thousands of farming families. Agriculture officials have encouraged farmers to adopt certified seed varieties, balanced fertilizer application, and scientific cultivation techniques to achieve higher yields.

The Agriculture Department is also conducting awareness programs and field demonstrations to educate farmers on pest management, efficient irrigation practices, and soil health management. Through support from Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) and various government schemes, farmers are receiving timely access to seeds, fertilizers, and technical guidance. Officials expect the increased cultivation area and improved farming practices to enhance overall production, strengthen the local agricultural economy, and improve farmers’ incomes during the current cropping season.
